The Otto Club

Each year, AAA distributes millions of posters and activity books to grade schools in the United States and Canada. Otto the Auto and his friends teach students important traffic safety principles while increasing their knowledge of reading, math, spelling and other basic skills. Workbooks include puzzles, games and coloring activities, and lessons are geared toward targeted age groups. This year’s edition covers the following safety topics:
  • Pedestrian safety - How to get to and from school safely including the safest places to walk, where to cross streets and cooperating with crossing guards.
  • What to do in an emergency - Steps to take in an emergency to keep safe from harm.
  • Safe places to play - Which places are dangerous to play in and how to find safe places to play.
  • Look both ways - The proper procedure for crossing streets safely.
  • School bus safety - Proper behavior on the school bus to keep everyone safe.
