This nationwide scholarship opportunity encourages talented young people to pursue careers as automotive service technicians
Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills
The Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills is a nationwide automotive technology competition for high school juniors and seniors interested in pursuing careers as automotive service technicians. More than 9,700 high school juniors and seniors competed in the 2009 event which features a written exam and timed hands-on repair competition where students diagnosis and repair identically "bugged" Ford vehicles. A record-high $10.7 million in scholarships were offered at both the state and national level in 2009.
Co-sponsored by AAA and Ford Motor Company, the the annual competition is in its 60th year of helping provide qualified automotive technicians, thereby improving the auto repair experience for AAA members.
