For Kids' Sake

Keeping children safe takes education - for motorists and for children.

Parents who purchase a safer car will lessen the chance of injury to themselves and their children in the event of a crash. Children who participate in safety programs will be more aware of the dangers surrounding them.

Learn about various AAA programs that have shown results - some for more than 80 years. From bike safety to car seats, your local AAA Club has information that will help keep your family safe.

Child Passenger Safety

  • Did you know: Car crashes are the No. 1 killer of our nation's children. It's estimated that 4 out of 5 car seats are used incorrectly. Find out what AAA is doing to improve safety for our children with its "Seated, Safe & Secure" campaign.

  • Is your child's safety seat installed correctly? Are you using the right seat for your child's age and weight?

  • Help is available: Car seats work best when they are installed correctly. An expert can answer your questions and check your car seat to make sure it's right. It's free and only and step away. To find an expert near you, you can call 1-866-SEAT-CHECK or click here.

School Zone

  • They guard our children on their way to and from school, but you may not know that AAA sponsors them. Some 500,000 kids in 50,000 schools proudly wear the badge and bright orange or green belts of the School Safety Patrol.

  • Meet Otto the Auto - Otto and his friends teach students about important traffic safety issues such as pedestrian safety, bicycle safety and school bus safety.

  • School's Open, Drive Carefully! Annual campaign offers safety tips designed to lower school-related pedestrian fatalities.

  • AAA Scholarships - Programs for Automotive Repair Technicians

Driver Education

AAA pioneered driver education in 1935 and is still the leader in developing driver training materials.
